HIV spectrum disorders and the family: selected interventions based on stylistic dimensions
Abstract
Curvilinear stylistic dimensions of the family, illness stages, individual developmental stages, and the life cycle stage of the family are discussed in relation to HIV spectrum disorders. Centripetal and centrifugal family styles are then used as a framework for presenting intervention strategies that allow the family to continue its developmental process, while working with the centripetal pull that having an AIDS member can exert on family dynamics.
