Incidence of antibodies to Mycoplasma pneumoniae at a Veterans Administration Medical Center

D T Reiber et al. J Okla State Med Assoc. 1989 May.

Abstract

Mycoplasma pneumoniae indirect immunofluorescent antibody titers were determined on the sera of 104 patients. Four patients (3.9%) had titers of 1:128+, suggesting active or recent M pneumoniae infections. A retrospective review of complement fixation M pneumoniae and Cold Agglutinin test results, along with the current data, suggests that 0.4% to 5.7% of our patients have recent or active M pneumoniae infections.
