[Various rare tumors of the lung]
Abstract
Carcinoids, mucoepidermoid as well as adenoid-cystic carcinomas represent a group of uncommon neoplasm of the lung. Based on their own experiences in between 1984 and 1988, including 6 cases (4 of which were carcinoids, one was a mucoepidermoid carcinoma and One an adenoid-cystic tumor), the authors have reviewed the existing literature on this subject and related the tumors of the long with those of the trachea, pointing out the different problems associated with the site of origin, the tumor spread, and the histological pattern of these malignancies.
