Bopindolol: long-term effects on blood pressure, renal function, plasma renin activity, and plasma aldosterone in mild-to-moderate essential hypertension
Abstract
Bopindolol was given to hypertensive patients in a single daily dose ranging from 1 to 4 mg. In 86.7% of the patients diastolic blood pressure was reduced by 10 mmHg or more, or lowered to below 90 mmHg, already during the first 4 wk of treatment. Inulin clearance decreased by 10%; PAH and creatinine clearance, blood urea nitrogen, and serum creatinine were unchanged.
