Abstract

2-Brom-2-ethyl-4-hydroxybutyramide and 2-Brom-2-ethyl-4-butyrolactam have been isolated from the urine of patients with carbromal intoxications as well as from the urine of rat, mouse and dog after the application of either carbromal or bromdiethylacetamide and identified by means of mass-, NMR- and IR spectroscopy.
