Liver disease in pregnancy
Abstract
The entire spectrum of liver diseases may occur in pregnancy. It is useful to consider those disorders uniquely associated with pregnancy and those that are coincidental. The most common cause of jaundice during pregnancy is viral hepatitis. Intrahepatic cholestasis and fatty liver may be peculiar to pregnant women. Early recognition of these situations may be life-saving.
