Bacterial vaginosis: emphasis on upper genital tract complications
Abstract
The term bacterial vaginosis is used to reflect the complex alterations of vaginal microorganisms and connotes the presence of a malodorous discharge without apparent inflammation. The normal vaginal flora is reviewed in order to better understand this syndrome. This article also discusses the frequency, clinical symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of this condition.
