Abstract

Plant galactagogues can successfully help to stimulate lactation. A survey on the drugs most commonly used in Europe is presented, and their role in folk medicine as well as their efficiency in clinical tests are discussed. Recommendations for galactagogous teas to support breast-feeding are made.
