Bacterial contamination in ambulances

Abstract

A pilot investigation was carried out to examine the extent of bacterial contamination in emergency vehicles and to assess the effectiveness of current cleaning protocols. The results show that there are unacceptable levels of contamination in ambulances, that bugs remain in several key sites even after cleaning and that contamination actually increases in some areas.
