A procedure for the prevention of recurrent saphenofemoral incompetence
Abstract
Evidence is presented suggesting that recurrent saphenofemoral incompetence may occur after an efficiently performed high legation of the great saphenous vein flush with the femoral vein. A procedure designed to prevent such recurrence, by suturing a flap of pectineus fascia over the femoral vein and ligated saphenous stump to the femoral sheath and margins of the fossa ovalis, is described.
