[Febrile status]
Abstract
We report the case of a 55-year-old woman with intermittent fever of unknown origin of several weeks duration. The past medical history was uneventful, as was the review of systems. After an extensive work-up, which did not produce the cause of the fever, the patient developed abdominal pains with signs of sub-ileus. In further examinations, a large stenotic carcinoma of the colon was found.
