Fluorescent Parkin-based preclinical model. After the addition of the mitochondrial membrane uncoupler carbonyl cyanide m-chlorophenyl hydrazone (CCCP) to the culture, the fluorescently tagged and stably expressed Parkin is recruited to the damaged mitochondria. The difference in the cellular fluorescence redistribution is highly appreciable; from a cytoplasmic distribution in the negative control, it turns into a vesicular pattern after CCCP treatment, corresponding to mitochondrial distribution.
