Context-specific Activity Repetition Training for Functional Outcome in Stroke Rehabilitation
Abstract
Task-oriented, activity repetition training brings a marked improvement in stroke individuals. Maximum repetitions of taskoriented training in stroke patients can be achieved easily in a therapy session. The subject of this report exhibited limitations of walking function, impaired balance, and strength of the upper and lower limbs. Task-oriented activity repetition training (ART) was performed by the patient for 5 days a week consisting of 60 minutes with maximum repetitions for 6 weeks. There was a gradual increase in repetitions per session and after 6-week exercise programme, overall body strength, balance, gait velocity, walking endurance, and functional mobility of the patient was improved remarkably.
