Heterogeneous evolution of pGGN irrespective of size at baseline measurement. Small pGGN (A, 8 mm) with minimal size growth in 1 year (B, 10 mm) and overt growth into IAC after 3 years of follow up (C, 16 mm, solid density). Large pGGN (D, 26 mm) that remained stable at 4 years (E, 27 mm), and 7 years follow up (F, 28 mm) in a patient (66 years old at baseline, 73 years old at the latest time-point) with diffuse emphysema who would have eventually suffered from detrimental effect of surgical resection. pGGN, pure ground-glass nodule.
