Relationship of intraocular pressure and fibrillopathia epitheliocapsularis
Abstract
The average intraocular pressure is higher in eyes with than in eyes without fibrillopathia epitheliocapsularis (pseudo-exfoliation). Open angle glaucoma was diagnosed in 22.7% of persons with fibrillopathy, compared to 1.2% in persons without fibrillopathy. The increase in intraocular pressure and the development of glaucoma seem in most cases to accompany or closely follow the development of fibrillopathy.
