Breast carcinoma with osteoclastlike giant cells
Abstract
Seven carcinomas of the breast with osteoclastlike giant cells were studied. Recurrences and lymph node metastases also contained osteoclastlike giant cells. Judging from ultrastructural and histochemical studies, the osteoclastlike giant cells are not epithelial, but are of mesenchymal origin. They may appear in a variety of different types of carcinoma.
