Abstract
Assessment and Therapy of Adolescent Identity Diffusion Identity diffusion, one of the main diagnosis criteria for borderline personality disorder (BPD), is characterized by a lack of coherent sense of self and of significant others, paired with a painful sense of incoherence. The revision of the age limit for the diagnosis of personality disorders in DSM-5 has opened the doors to research on diagnosis and treatment of BPD in adolescence. This paper offers a summary of past and present work on the diagnosis and therapy of identity disturbance in adolescent patients.
Zusammenfassung Identitätsdiffusion, beschrieben als das Fehlen eines kohärenten Bildes des Selbst und wichtiger Anderer, gepaart mit einem schmerzhaften Gefühl der Inkohärenz, ist eines der Hauptdiagnosekriterien der Borderline Persönlichkeitsstörung (BPS). Seit der Revision der Altersgrenze für die Diagnose der Persönlichkeitsstörung im DSM-5 haben sich die Türen für die Forschung in Richtung Diagnostik und Therapie der BPS im Jugendalter geöffnet. Dieser Beitrag soll einen Überblick über bisherige und geplante Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Diagnostik und Therapie der Identitätsdiffusion im Rahmen der BPS bei Jugendlichen bieten.
