Injuries to the muscle-tendon unit

W E Garrett Jr. Instr Course Lect. 1988.

Abstract

Injuries to muscles are very common in clinical practice. Our understanding of the pathophysiology lags far behind that of other orthopaedic injuries. The recent increase in research and emphasis on muscle injuries and sports medicine will, it is hoped, provide new data and a more scientific basis for treatment and prevention.
