[Radiobiological studies in the Central Scientific Research Roentgenoradiology Institute of the USSR Ministry of Public Health in the past 70 years]

Abstract

The authors give a brief presentation of the main stages of development of radiobiological investigations in our first roentgenoradiology institute founded 70 years ago. The continuity of scientific ideas, views and traditions laid by its founders Prof. M.I. Nemenov and A.F. Ioffe, was shown. Progress achieved by the Institute's staff-members in the field of radiobiology, formed the basis for the improvement of methods of ionizing radiations employed in medicine.
