Magnesium, Staphylococcus aureus and toxic shock syndrome
Abstract
In vitro studies led us to a new, coherent hypothesis for the pathogenesis of toxic shock syndrome (TSS). These studies show a hitherto unsuspected role of Mg in the pathogenesis of a serious microbial disease, and suggest one of several possible approaches to the prevention of the disorder.
