Abstract

Treatment of reverse pseudohyperkalemia for a patient with chronic lymphocytic leukemia was complicated by falsely reported elevated potassium levels.

Comparison of Potassium Levels (n = 7) Potassium levels obtained when comparing hand-carried tubes to pneumatically transported tubes. Analysis was done using an unpaired t test; P < .0001. A difference of about 2.7 mEq was noted, depending on transport method.
