Parapharyngeal abscess secondary to lymphovenous malformation
Abstract
Background: Deep neck space abscesses are an uncommon but life-threatening emergency presentation to the ENT surgeon because of potential acute airway compromise.
Objective: This paper presents a novel case of a palatine tonsillar, low-flow, lymphovenous malformation pre-disposing to multifocal deep neck space collections and resultant acute airway compromise.
Keywords: Airway Obstruction; Lymphangioma; Palatine Tonsil; Peritonsillar Abscess.
