Restoring the PTEN tumor suppressor
In cancer, the tumor suppressor PTEN is often inactivated or haploinsufficient. This means PTEN is unable to negatively regulate the oncogenic PI3K-AKT pathway. Lee et al. found a regulatory mechanism that can restore PTEN activity.
