Percentage of glomerular cells (glomerular endothelial cells, mesangial cells, podocytes, immune cells, and tubular cells) in diabetic and control kidneys. Representation of percentage of different type of cells in diabetic and control glomeruli from eNOS-deficient mice. Left panel depicts 49% of glomerular endothelial cells, 32% of mesangial cells, 15% of podocytes, and only 1.5% of immune and tubular cells within glomerular from control eNOS-deficient mice. Right panel shows this glomerular endothelial cells and immune cells are markedly increased in glomeruli from diabetic eNOS-deficient mice (66% and 15%, respectively).
