Methotrexate (MTX) is an anti-metabolite commonly administered during chemotherapy and as an immunosuppressant for autoimmune diseases. This activity reviews the indications, mechanism of action, and contraindications for methotrexate as a treatment for neoplastic and autoimmune conditions.
