Abstract

  1. Venous thrombosis is common in patients with severe COVID-19 pneumonia.

  2. Many of these thromboses may be immunothromboses due to local inflammation, rather than thromboembolic disease.

  3. Anticoagulated patients with COVID-19 pneumonia have a risk of major bleeding.

Keywords: COVID-19; Critical care; Pulmonary embolism; SARS-CoV-2; Venous thromboembolism.
