Uroliths are uncommon findings in rats. This report describes a case of a neutered male rat with dysuria due to an infectious cystitis as well as an urolith of the urinary bladder consisting of struvite and whewellit. Following cystotomy as well as treatment with antibiotics and analgetics the rat recovered rapidly.

Konkremente der Harnwege sind bei Ratten selten zu finden. Dieser Bericht beschreibt den Fall einer männlich-kastrierten Ratte mit Harnabsatzstörungen, die auf eine bakterielle Zystitis sowie auf einen Blasenstein, bestehend aus Struvit und Whewellit, zurückzuführen waren. Nach Zystotomie und antibiotischer sowie analgetischer Behandlung erholte sich das Tier schnell und war beschwerdefrei.
