Abstract

Objective: This study examines the levels of stress, anxiety, and depression in people over 60 years of age at the time of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Design: The study used an exploratory-descriptive cross-sectional methodology. The resulting responses were analyzed using SPSS v.25 PARTICIPANTS: Participants (N = 290) were aged 60 years and above.

Setting: The study was carried out in the Basque Country (North of Spain).

Measurements: Stress, anxiety, and depression were measured using the Anxiety and Stress Scale - 21 (DASS-21) RESULTS: Most of the participants did not report levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. Among participants age 66 and above and those with chronic illness, a proportion reported experiencing one, two or all three of these symptoms.
