Abstract

The incidence of sexually transmitted diseases has increased in recent years. Anaerobic vaginosis, caused by Gardnerella vaginalis and anaerobic bacteria after subversion of the normal vaginal flora has only recently been the subject of specific studies using improved laboratory techniques.
