Senolytic CAR T Cells in Age-Related Pathologies and Solid Tumors (A) Age-related pathologies and (B) solid malignant tumors. Senolytic CAR T cells migrate to the areas of senescence and infiltrate the senescent tissues. The binding of the CAR to the target antigen expressed on senescent cells (e.g., uPAR) triggers an intracellular signaling cascade that elicits T cell activation, proliferation, and effector functions, resulting in the lysis of senescent cells. Elimination of senescent cells may subsequently restore tissue homeostasis and function.
