Abstract

The above article, published online on 05 September 2017 in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), has been retracted by agreement between the authors, the journal's Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Shinya Murakami, and John Wiley & Sons A/S. The retraction has been agreed as the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) approval for the experimental peri-implantitis procedure used in this article was still pending at the time that the procedure was performed. The IACUC approval for the peri-implantitis procedure was received in 2017 after the article had been submitted. Although all the research design, methods, and results are valid, IACUC approval was not received at the time the research was performed, which is a requirement for all research submitted to the journal. The authors have agreed to retract the article.
