Donor cells sourced from both cardiac and extra-cardiac tissues produce paracrine factors (exosomes, cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, bioactive lipids) that modify immune cell function/phenotypic properties. Although the effects of donor cell administration on neutrophil, monocyte, and macrophage biology have been reported in vivo, their impact on B and T cells remain under explored.
