Cleft hand involving only the ring and small fingers
Abstract
The clinical features of congenital clefts between the ring and small fingers are described. After examining patients I find it difficult to decide whether cases with a cleft between the ring and small fingers, without absence of any digits, should be categorized as failure of formation or failure of differentiation. There was no functional disability justifying an operation, but the parents requested the cleft be closed for cosmetic reasons.
