Odontogenic tumors of the jaw are a group of lesions that originate from remnants of epithelium or ectomesenchyme associated with teeth development. It ranges from hamartomas to true tumors. The fourth edition of WHO histological typing of odontogenic tumors classifies them as benign and malignant. Then, they are subdivided according to the cell of origin to epithelial, ectomesenchymal, or mixed.
