Abstract

Retraction: "microRNA-539 functions as a tumor suppressor in papillary thyroid carcinoma via the transforming growth factor β1/Smads signaling pathway by targeting secretory leukocyte protease inhibitor," by Cheng-Bi Xu, Xue-Shi-Bo-Jie Liu, Jin-Qiu Li, Xue Zhao, Ding Xin, Dan Yu, J Cell Biochem. 2019; 10830-10846: The above article, published online on 31 January 2019 in Wiley Online Library (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/jcb.28374), has been retracted by agreement between the journal's Editor in Chief, Prof. Dr. Christian Behl, and Wiley Periodicals LLC. The retraction has been agreed following an investigation based on allegations raised by a third party. As several flaws and inconsistencies between results presented and experimental methods described were found, the editors consider the conclusions of this article to be invalid.
