Chlamydial serology in patients with intra-amniotic infection and controls
Abstract
To discern a role of Chlamydia trachomatis in intra-amniotic infection, antichlamydial antibodies (IgG and IgM) were measured in paired sera of 36 patients with intra-amniotic infection and in 19 uninfected control patients. There were no significant differences in seroprevalence or in serologic changes between the infected and control groups. Patients with IgG antibody to C. trachomatis were significantly older than seronegative individuals (24.7 +/- 6.6 years vs. 20.6 +/- 5.0).
