(A) Axial MRI brain without contrast completed 2 weeks after symptom onset demonstrated bilateral, symmetric T2, and FLAIR hyperintensities with some areas of associated restricted diffusion throughout the basal ganglia. (B) Follow‐up MRI at 9 months showed decreased, but not resolved, T2 and FLAIR abnormalities without diffusion restriction.
