Abstract

Pain In the Thumb and Other Fingers Abstract. As the population ages, symptoms of osteoarthritis in the hand are seen with increasing frequency. It can lead to substantial pain, physical disability and impair the patient's capacity to work in a population with an increasing retirement age. This article gives an overview about the most prevalent forms of osteoarthritis in the hand, its diagnosis and current treatment options, stressing that the multimodal form of therapy is the most effective.

Zusammenfassung. Mit zunehmendem Alter der Bevölkerung steigt die Häufigkeit von Arthrose in der Hand. Dies kann bei Manifestation zu Schmerzen und körperlichen Beeinträchtigungen führen. Die daraus resultierende potenzielle Arbeitsunfähigkeit betrifft die Bevölkerung bei steigendem Rentenalter zunehmend. Dieser Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die häufigsten Formen der Arthrose in der Hand, ihre Diagnosestellung und die aktuellen Behandlungsmöglichkeiten und betont, dass eine multimodale Therapie häufig der effektivste Ansatz ist.
