Rabbits that became immobile (akinetic) after being reserpinized (upper panel) and then were restored to good mobility after being treated with L‐dopa (lower panel) in an experiment by Carlsson, Lindqvist and Magnusson who showed that it was L‐dopa, and not L‐5‐HTP, that could reverse reserpine's parkinsonian effect.
