This guideline provides evidence-based guidance to improve quality of life for patients with asthma. Control asthma symptoms at rest and during exercise. Attain normal lung function. Minimize adverse drug reactions. Prevent asthma exacerbations. Attain normal activity levels, including exercise. Prevent unscheduled office visits, emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and premature deaths.
