R E Smith. Cancer Detect Prev. 1987.

Abstract

This paper reviews the relationship between dietary fat and breast cancer. The incidence of breast cancer is discussed with regard to dietary habits, geographic location, and economic status. The roles of Trans-fatty acids and urinary as well as plasma estrone, estradiol (E2), estriol (E3), and estrogen are reviewed. Specific hypotheses are proposed to explain the relationship between fatty acid intake and breast cancer.
