An alternative repair of major vascular injury inflicted during lumbar disk surgery

J Horacio Alvarez et al. Surgery. 1987 Apr.

Abstract

A major iatrogenic injury involving the bifurcation of the aorta and the inferior vena cava during lumbar disk surgery was successfully repaired by completing the near transection of the right common iliac artery, venorraphy and aortorraphy of the wounds of the bifurcation, and end-to-end anastomosis of the left hypogastric artery to the right common iliac artery.
