Trials of interferon in respiratory infections of man
Abstract
Human leucocyte interferon has been shown to prevent rhinovirus infection if given intranasally to human volunteers. This finding encourages further investigation, but it is too soon to say whether interferon is likely to be clinically useful in serious virus infections of the respiratory tract.
