Figures

Fig 1:
Fig 1:. Frequency distribution of SYK expression and maximum anti-IgE Ab induced histamine release in the population examined for their carrier status of SNP rs290988 genotype.
Panel A: n=47 population distribution for SYK expression in basophils as measured by the flow cytometric method, using single-step Percoll prepared leukocytes (≈1% basophils) with red bars denoting individuals with the ‘CC’ genotype.Panel B: n=59; population distribution for maximum histamine release induced by anti-IgE Ab, using the same single-step Percoll prepared leukocytes, with red bars denoting individuals with the ‘CC’ genotype. Panels C and D: SYK expression and histamine release distributions, respectively, in European-American subjects.
Fig 2:
Fig 2:. 3-way ANOVA for SYK (by flow) and Histamine Release (HR).
Panel A: eQTL analysis on 1000 genome database as presented in our previously published study () for one (of 44) tissue types. Panel B, ANOVA for this reports 3-way analysis of genotype vs. SYK expression (F=5.07; p=0.0104). Panel C, ANOVA for this reports 3-way analysis of genotype vs. HR (F=6.45; p= 0.0030). Panel D, 2-factor analysis (poor-releasers = ≤ 20% histamine release, a threshold chosen from 3 analyses methods -- distribution statistics and k-means clustering -- of the population response distribution of historical data) for all subjects using a recessive genetic model, Fisher’s exact test results were p=0.00015. Panel E, 2-factor analysis for CEU subjects using a recessive model, Fisher’s exact test results were p=0.00002.
