Association of hypertension with chronic alcoholism in a black population
Abstract
A positive association was established between hypertension and alcoholism in a study of 6,491 black patients. The relative risk of high blood pressure associated with alcoholism was 1.20 and the odds ratio was 1.23 in this hospital-based, case-control study.
