The figure presents a framework for the centrality of social determinants of health in relation to hypertension. There are potential associations between multiple factors – anthropometric, behavioral, clinical, and mental health – and social determinants to exacerbate hypertension. Such factors occur within the framework of structural racism and its concomitant social, economic, and historical context.
