The hypotesized relationship between infection, inflammation and development of primary bladder neck obstruction is shown by the changes from the normal bladder neck, the initial inflammatory changes during prostatitis and the development of a chronic prostatitis. The continuous collagen deposition and underlying chronic inflammation lead to a bladder neck obstruction.
