Respiratory syncytial virus Prefusion F vaccine
Abstract
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the most common cause of serious respiratory infection in infants. Reinfections occur commonly, including in older adults. For six decades, effective vaccines remained elusive. Stabilization of the prefusion conformation of the RSV glycoprotein F was critical for development of effective vaccines to prevent RSV in older adults.
