Ronnie Sebro, MD, PhD, is an internationally renowned statistician, geneticist, and musculoskeletal radiologist. He is a professor of radiology, orthopedic surgery, and biostatistics at the Mayo Clinic. His research focuses on using artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis, tumors, and other musculoskeletal conditions.

He chairs the RSNA Machine Learning Steering Committee; one of the Committee’s roles is to organize the twice-yearly RSNA artificial intelligence competitions. The early work he led on artificial intelligence pneumothorax detection produced an FDA-cleared model currently clinically deployed on portable radiographic devices. He is an author of the Checklist for Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging (CLAIM).
