Abstract

A multimedia artist has designed the first set of U.S. stamps ever painted on the computer. On July 12, to coincide with the opening of the U.S. Olympic Festival in Los Angeles, the U.S. Postal Service and artist Joni Carter will issue five stamps commemorating Olympic track and field events. Sports enthusiasts and Olympic hopefuls will be among the first to see Carter's computerpainted designs.
